Our team is our greatest asset. With over 30 years of combined experience in reaching out to and working with vulnerable youth, our educators and graduates are passionate about making a real difference.
Our team's expertise lies in creating relatable, engaging content that speaks directly to young people, offering them the guidance they need to make positive life choices.
Luke Cato
Founder
Driven by a passion to change the narrative for the next generation, Luke founded REAL DIRECTION. He started by self-funding an interactive app, determined to use technology to create relatable, authentic stories that could steer young people away from harm.
That single-minded focus on authenticity and credibility is the foundation of everything we do. We are not a corporate training company; we are a team of creatives, youth workers, and technologists, many with our own lived experience of the issues we tackle. We believe that to reach young people, you have to respect their reality.
This personal mission has grown into an award-winning organisation, collectively reaching over 100,000 young people through our platform, productions, training, and community delivery.
We are trusted by schools, colleges, youth justice services, and local authorities nationwide. Our story is the proof that a different path is always possible.

Joshua Nugent
Director & Lead Practitioner
Joshua bridges the gap between content and impact. As Director, he leads on training delivery, working directly with professionals to ensure they can effectively use the platform in real-world settings.
He also develops educational resources, structures learning materials, and maintains the platform to ensure it remains relevant, engaging, and aligned with the needs of practitioners and young people.
Benjamin Nugent
Project Manager
Benjamin leads on project delivery across Real Direction’s productions, ensuring every stage runs efficiently from concept to completion.
He oversees script development, coordinates production logistics, and works closely with both the creative and technical teams to bring ideas to life.
From managing timelines and resources to supporting on-set delivery, Benjamin plays a central role in maintaining quality, consistency, and alignment with the organisation’s vision.
Henrietta Eyre
Head of Business Development
Henrietta leads the national growth of Real Direction, driving partnerships and securing opportunities across the UK.
She is responsible for positioning the organisation within key sectors, building relationships with stakeholders, and converting interest into long-term collaborations.
Through her strategic approach to sales and development, Henrietta ensures Real Direction continues to expand its reach and impact at scale.
Emily Johnston
Accounts Officer & Executive Support
Emily plays a key role in maintaining strong organisational relationships and operational flow.
As Accounts Officer and Executive support, she manages communications with partners, coordinates bookings, and ensures organisations are informed about Real Direction’s services.
Her work underpins the day-to-day running of the business, helping to create a seamless experience from first contact through to delivery.
Izak Maynard
Head of Cinematography
Izak is responsible for the visual identity of Real Direction’s content, leading on all aspects of cinematography.
As Director of Lighting and Photography (DLP), he captures and shapes the look and feel of each production, ensuring every frame reflects the intended tone and message.
Alongside shooting, Isaac also handles editing, giving him full creative control over the final product and ensuring a high-quality, cinematic finish across all projects.
